Highways

The first application of Reinforced Earth for earth retention was used on roads and highway structures. Provincial ministries, municipalities and highway construction consortiums look to RECo’s precast concrete panels for the high durability and safety required on transportation projects.

Most Highway infrastructure applications are for the construction of retaining walls for ramps, wing walls to bridge structures and bridge abutments that support the full traffic loading at the bridge seat. RECo’s modular facing system is easily adaptable to a variety of geometrical and aesthetical requirement while providing a technical engineering solution.

Reinforced Earth projects require shorter construction time versus more traditional construction methods. Wall construction does not require any scaffolding permitting minimum encroachment to right-of-way. Requirements for detour and disruption to traffic can be considerably reduced.
